Frequently Asked Questions

  • I truly believe that therapy can be right for everyone. It’s important to find a therapist with whom you can connect and an approach that suits your needs and your lifestyle. Therapy often gets such a bad rep, but really it’s just a wonderful way to get to know yourself with the guidance of someone who is unbiased and dedicated to helping you flourish.

  • This is so important for both the therapist (me) and the client (you). We both have to feel like we have the same mission and that we’re on the same team. I ensure this by offering a free consultation phone call where we can get to know each other a bit. If we find we’re not a match then we know up front and you won’t have to waste your time/money.

  • During our initial consultation call I am more than happy to discuss my fee. I understand that everyone’s circumstances are different and would not want to alienate anyone before having the chance to speak. I am more than happy to make accommodations where needed.

  • Yes. All of your information will remain private and stored in a secure, HIPAA compliant database. There are certain situations that require a breach of confidentiality—these include specific health and safety issues. You will be briefed on these specifics at the start of therapy.

  • Sessions are typically weekly. That said, some clients desire or require more frequent sessions, and I am more than happy to accommodate that as well.

  • Typical sessions are 50-60 minutes. Double sessions can be scheduled if needed.

  • I do not directly take insurance; however, many insurance companies offer reimbursements for mental health services. I am more than happy to provide invoices (super bills) so that you’re able to bill your insurance for possible reimbursement.

  • At the moment, I am working exclusively on Zoom. However, if meeting in person is important to you then we can work something out (ex: walking session, park, other creative ideas that are still private). Having worked with clients both in-person and online I have found that the connection built is just as authentic and valuable online versus in-person.
